entry-level theatre making

Are you learning disabled and / or autistic? Are you interested in performing arts? Want to have fun and meet new friends? Then Human Artist is for you!

Human Artist is an entry level theatre makers programme designed to give learning disabled and / or autistic participants a first steps experience of performance making.

Human Artist will:

·       Build your confidence

·       Develop your creativity

·       Improve your verbal and non-verbal communication skills

·       Improve your concentration

·       Encourage teamwork and collaboration

Human Artist explores all elements of drama within a fun environment.

Human Artist is a rolling programme. Participants are invited to continue to attend for as long as they wish. While involved with the programme, a person-centred plan will be established to nurture their personal development. This will be completed by our
experienced staff, which includes highly qualified theatre producers and psychologists.

There is also a strong social element to the programme, with time consistently being dedicated to supporting the participants to nurture healthy relationships with one another. We commit to providing participants with the ability to transfer these skills more broadly within their lives. This fosters a greater level of community integration, and in turn has been a proven process for reducing participant’s social care needs in the long run.

Human Artist runs Mondays 10am – 1pm, term time only.
The cost per session is £15 and paid in advance of each term.
The venue is: The Old Library, Leeming Street, Mansfield NG18 1NG
